Sonya McVay
Sonya McVay, MP, is a certified ART (Active Release Techniques), NKT (NeuroKinetic Therapy), AiM (Anatomy in Motion), PMT (Performance Movement Taping by RockTape), KABUKI integrated Power Lifting, and ICT (Integrated Cranial Therapy) provider. She is also a certified master Pilates Instructor and a PMA (Pilates Method Alliance) and NKT credentialing author and continuing education provider. ART is a clinical soft tissue therapy system used to treat pathologies and/or movement restriction with muscles, tendons, ligaments and nerves. Alongside manual therapy, she specializes in Neuro-Gate, functional/movement assessment, sports injuries, spinal pathologies, "special-populations" and post-treatment exercise. Her practice combines multiple methods and provides incredible results. Her clients include internationally competitive athletes (Ferrari's Racing team), professional baseball players, both pro golfers and tennis players, triathletes, cyclists, PTSD patients, competitive marathoners, UFC fighters, IronMan/ToughMudder and Spartan athletes, avid and competitive CrossFitters, Olympic lifters, business executives, chronic pain patients, senior citizens, and youth. Sonya has personally treated hundreds of First Responders and Military Personnel over the last ten years. It is her life’s mission to demand NFL quality health care to these populations.
Hans Karlsson- Hans A. Karlsson, MPT, P.T.
Hans is a physical therapist with over 30 years of experience in outpatient orthopedics and home health physical therapy. He has worked in and owned several physical therapy practices, gaining extensive experience in treating a wide range of orthopedic, neurological, and sports-related injuries. As Clinical Director at The Six Physical Therapy Clinic, he brings a hands-on, patient-centered approach to care, helping individuals regain mobility and return to their active lifestyles. Hans has a strong background in working with first responders, providing specialized rehabilitation programs to support both recovery and performance. Outside the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors.
Steve DeMaderios
With 29 years of experience as a physical therapist in professional sports, Steve has developed a deep understanding of athletic performance and rehabilitation. For 17 years, he co-owned and operated a mobile X-ray and imaging service, enhancing his expertise in diagnostic imaging. He has been with The 6 since 2023, where he is licensed in PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) therapy, focusing on neurology and muscular treatments. As a certified personal trainer, he has worked extensively with elderly populations and first responders, providing tailored fitness solutions to meet their unique needs. His diverse background allows him to contribute effectively to our team's mission of promoting health and wellness.

Becca Rocha
Becca is a certified and licensed Massage Therapist specializing in Deep Tissue and Myofascial massage, with additional certification in cupping. She began her career at The6 after completing massage school at the National Holistic Institute. She is passionate about helping others, and outside of work her family means everything to her.
Viviana Solano
Viviana is a licensed Massage Therapist and a graduate of the National Holistic Institute. A Santa Rosa native, she brings over 17 years of customer service rooted in compassion, connection, and care. Her approach blends deep tissue techniques, intentional stretching, flowing movement, and calming energy work to restore balance to both body and mind. Her focus is on relieving tension, improving mobility, and creating a deeply restorative experience that is both therapeutic and nurturing. Every session is tailored to each client’s individual needs, combining intuitive touch with focused techniques to encourage the body to reset, recharge, and heal naturally.
Heather Bird
Heather is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Integrative Practitioner serving responders at The 6 since 2020. (Insomnia, fertility, digestive issues, and low back pain most frequently). She specializes in relieving physical pain, restoring emotional balance, and supporting the body’s natural capacity to heal and thrive. She is also one of the top fertility acupuncturists in Northern California and serve women through all seasons of life.
Whether you’re managing chronic pain, burnout, emotional overwhelm, or simply seeking greater alignment, she will listen closely to your body and work in partnership with your innate healing intelligence.
Angela Tejada
She is a social worker, therapist, and healer specializing in a multitude of areas: working with harm reduction addiction recovery, 12-step programs, Red Road/Wellbriety, domestic violence/sexual assault/childhood abuse recovery, teen parents, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in Veterans and survivors exposed to all types of traumas, emotional addiction, anxiety, depression, sexual issues/deviance, intergenerational trauma, healing from cult/victims of abuse, healing from narcissistic relationships, divorce/blended family dynamics. She brings an extensive background in both evidence-based and culturally rooted traditional healing to restore health and well-being. She strives to support her clients in creating healthy boundaries, repairing parent-child trauma bonds, and client empowerment in all capacities as we integrate our experiences striving to become happy, joyous, and free!
Elias Navarrete-Perez
Elias is a recently licensed PTA out of Mendocino College with a strong background in athletics, strength training, and performance-based rehabilitation. He brings extensive experience in therapeutic exercise, movement analysis, and progressive loading from both outpatient orthopedics and personal training environments.
Ava Motter
Ava is a certified Pilates instructor with over 25 years of experience, specializing in the Hendrickson method since 2013. Her passion for anatomy fuels her dedication to understanding the human body and enhancing clients' movement. She recently expanded her knowledge and practice at the National Holistic Institute of Massage to further her expertise and become a licensed massage therapist. Outside of The6, she loves dancing and attending live music events.

Julie Leandro
With over 30 years of experience in the school system, Julie has held roles both in the classroom and in administration. She also spent 2 years at a gastroenterology office in San Francisco. She enjoys traveling with her husband in their RV and fishing. As a proud grandparent of six amazing grandchildren, she cherishes family time. Julie is also the daughter of a firefighter and a grandmother of a firefighter. Currently, she contributes part-time in the office assisting with various tasks as needed.
Rachael Heard
Rachael comes from a 15-year staffing, payroll, and administrative career at Kaiser before transitioning over to the clinic. She is deeply connected to the responder community and is honored to be a part of The6 with administrative work, event planning, and community outreach. She is a mother to two boys who want to follow in their father’s footsteps as firefighters.
Nichole Browne
Nichole spent 16 years in the fire service, including 8 years as a 911 dispatcher, so she is used to fast-moving environments with a little chaos. Now she is the office manager at The6, keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes and stepping in wherever she is needed. She enjoys making things feel seamless and supportive, both for the team and anyone who walks through our doors.
